Tasty good cake and comfort seating outside. Only the choose, collect and display paper slip is complicated...

The pastries here were so delicious. My family and I got several of the cakes and weren't disappointed by any of them. I had the red currant cake. It was incredible. The staff was very helpful in picking out cakes. It's a wonderful little shop. You definitely need to stop in if you are in the area.

We stopped in late in the day for some hot drinks. Nice attentive staff and tastefully decorated. Even though they were getting ready to close for the day, they were gracious.

Best hot chocolate in town from freshly grated chocolate ... and the homemade cakes are delicious! Moreover, the handcrafted chocolate bars have a very rare taste, each of them, one better than the other. Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:00 p.m. there is a chocolate tasting for 10 € per person.

Went there for lunch. The staff seemed a bit out of sorts. The cheese and ham omelette was a bit bland. The ice cream however was delicious. The decor was lovely and we were even allowed to read some of the books on display.

The Kroenner Cafe, located at Obermarkt 8 in the charming pedestrian zone of Murnau, holds a special place in my heart. Growing up in Murnau before immigrating to Canada, I spent countless afternoons here during my college years, sharing moments with friends, students, teachers, and family. Back then, it was known as Fodermaier, and now, a trip back to my hometown is never complete without several visits to this beloved cafe. The cafe offers a delightful array of homemade cakes, tarts, ice cream, pralines, and chocolate that are simply irresistible. Their menu also features hearty and refreshing dishes that cater to every palate. And of course, no visit is complete without enjoying the famous Kark Weissbier, a local wheat beer that perfectly complements the cafe’s cozy ambiance. Murnau itself is a picturesque town nestled in the foothills of the Alps, in an area affectionately known as the Blue Land or "Das Blaue Land." The stunning landscapes have inspired many artists, including Kandinsky and Münter. The beauty of this region adds to the magic of Kroenner Cafe, making it a perfect spot to relax and soak in the artistic and natural splendor. Kroenner Cafe is more than just a cafe; it’s a place where memories are made and cherished. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, I highly recommend stopping by to experience its unique charm and delicious offerings.

Just so you know, nowhere in the world have I had as good a Vanillasauce as here. It's so pleasant and airy, and goes amazingly well with the Apfelstrudel which is also delicious. We have come to Murnau five times now in the last 20 years, and the last four times can largely be attributed to this mouth watering combo. Please try when you're in the area.

Tasteful cakes and tarts. Amazing chocolate and ice cream (many non-dairy choices) in this very traditional cafe setup (pick your piece of cake in the shop, get a ticket for your waiter and have the deliciousness served to your table). Staff is very friendly and attentive and the view of the historic center of murnau is absolutely stunning.
